Kollur

Kollur 85kms from Udupi, is one of the most important places of Pilgrimage on the west Coast attracting Pilgrims from all over India. The Temple Dedicated to the Divine Mother, Sri Mookambika, stands in the valley of the great Kodachadri peak. The ancient Temple of Devi Mukambika is situated here amidst thick green forest by the side of river Sowparnika. It is said that the Devi is a self manifested Jyothirlinga on half Shrichakra consecrated by Shankaracharya.

The Temple with Gold Plated crest and Copper Roofs has a peculiar style of Architecture and attracts thousands of devotes. Those interested may trek to the beautiful Kodachadri peak 16kms from here Arasina Mukki water falls nearby is a popular picnic spot.
